Meet Michael Waylett
Michael joined Magnolia Federal Credit Union in May 2016. He holds a B.A. Degree in Financial Economics from Lynchburg College and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Liberty University.
Michael began his credit union career as a Credit Union Examiner for the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). He has held the CEO/President position for two different credit unions —Memorial Credit Union in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Vision Financial Federal Credit Union in Durham, North Carolina. He currently serves on the Credit Union National Association’s (CUNA) Examination & Supervision Subcommittee, is a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE), and a Certified Credit Counselor.
Michael and his wife, Bethany, have two children and reside in Madison, Mississippi.
Katie joined Magnolia Federal Credit Union in September 2016. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University.
Prior to joining Magnolia Federal, Katie worked for BancorpSouth Bank. In her 8 year tenure there, she gained experience in sales, customer service, branch management and lending.
Katie is currently responsible for ensuring all lending policies and procedures best serve the credit union and its members. She manages the daily operations of the lending department and ensures compliance with state and federal lending laws. She is also responsible for ensuring attainment of quarterly and annual loan growth and retention goals.
Katie is actively involved in several community organizations, most recently serving as President for the Junior Auxiliary of Madison County. She and her husband, Clay, have a son and currently reside in the Gluckstadt area of Madison.
Tracy joined Magnolia Federal Credit Union in July 2016. She holds a B.A. Degree in Management from The University of New Orleans, is certified in non-profit management, and is currently finishing her certification as an economic developer.
Prior to joining the credit union Diez worked in the restaurant, international business, and economic development industries gaining 16+ years of executive operational management experience. As the VP of Marketing and Sales she oversees marketing, staff development, events, public relations, and business development.
Tracy was named one of Mississippi's 50 Leading Business Women--Class of 2013. She sits on several boards in the Jackson Mississippi Area and is an active volunteer in her community as a board member of a Public Improvement District. She regularly participates in the Jackson metro area chambers of commerce and other associations.
Tracy is the proud parent of one adult son and resides in the reservoir area of Brandon, Mississippi.
Mia Mason was hired as AVP of Operations of Magnolia Federal Credit Union in July 2014 and was promoted to VP of Operations in December 2015. Prior to joining the credit union Mason worked in the retail banking industry as AVP of Operations developing employees and improving policies and procedures.
Mia is responsible for aiding in strategic planning, staff development, general operations, policy writing, and process improvements. She earned a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Mia is an active volunteer and works to serve her church and community. She and her husband have two children.
Aaron joined Magnolia Federal Credit Union in October 2014 as Assistant Vice President of Compliance and was promoted to Vice President of Compliance in 2015. A native of Southeastern Kentucky, he graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Aaron has over 15 years of experience in the financial service industry and currently holds the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) designation of Credit Union Compliance Expert.
Aaron began his financial services career at a small community bank in his hometown, where he was later promoted to Compliance Officer for the bank holding company, covering two community banks.
He joined the credit union movement in 2008, serving as Compliance Officer for a state-chartered credit union in Jackson, Tennessee. He made the move to Jackson, Mississippi after meeting his now-wife Maleigh, a Mississippi native, at a credit union conference. Maleigh is a credit union executive at a neighboring credit union.
Brian joined Magnolia Federal Credit Union in March 2016 as VP of Finance. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy and a Master of Business Administration. Brian has over 15 years of experience in accounting, auditing, consulting, and financial reporting.
Brian is charged with strengthening and aligning the accounting and financial functions with the credit union’s core values of communication, teamwork, integrity, recognition, and service. In this role, Brian oversees accounting, asset/liability management, investments, financial reporting, modeling, and analysis.
Brian is an active volunteer and dedicated to community service. He and his wife Ramsey, have two children.
Magnolia Board of Directors
The volunteer board at Magnolia is made up of business leaders and retired professionals. Their job is to provide experienced leadership and oversight of the credit union. They work long hours for the greater good - to help members achieve financial well-being. We're honored to have these individuals leading the Magnolia cause. They help represent every member when it comes to making important, forward-thinking decisions that affect the entire credit union.
